Blackcomb Aviation Names Sacha McLean, Chief Executive Officer

September 23, 2009, VANCOUVER, BC, Canada – Blackcomb Aviation today announced the appointment of Sacha McLean as Chief Executive Officer. This appointment follows the successful expansion of Blackcomb Aviation from a group of distinguished independent aviation companies into a medium sized business operating under a single management team.

In his role as CEO, Sacha will work with Blackcomb’s co-owner, fellow Board member and President, John Morris, to continue strengthening Blackcomb’s sales base by maintaining strategic alliances with Blackcomb’s current customers and financial partners. Sacha will also lead the management team, drive Blackcomb’s business development, and be accountable for the financial management of the business. Blackcomb’s operational management will remain under the leadership of John Morris whose industry knowledge and operational experience is pivotal to the continued growth of the company.

Sacha McLean is a Graduate (Bachelor of Arts, Honours) from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. He has a fifteen year background in business development and executive management and is widely recognized for his instrumental role in the formation and expansion of Vancouver Film Studios and its subsidiary companies, Pacific Backlot Services and Signal Systems which are owned by the McLean Group. He is a commercial helicopter pilot and a fixed wing pilot, and past member of the Vancouver Advisory Environmental Committee of the Vancouver International Airport. His previous executive appointments include Senior Executive Officer and later, President, of Vancouver Film Studios. He is a current Board member of the McLean Group and Blackcomb Aviation, and past board member and Vice-Chair of the Whistler Film Festival.
