All Blackcomb Helicopter’s pilots have extensive mountain flying experience and are very familiar with the Coastal Mountains. All of our pilots have passed an intensive Mountain Flying Course and carry out annual training in both Mountain flying and low visibility operations. All pilots have completed additional courses such as Transport Canada’s, Pilot Decision Making Course, Hydro Line Flying Course and are Certified and Trained in Hover Exits.
Having over 50,000 hours of combined experience, all of our pilots have the understanding of flying that has assisted the helicopter industry in developing innovated ideas. Blackcomb Helicopters pioneered the use and implementation of Helicopter External Transport System (HETS) for helicopter long-line rescue operations. Our pilots maintain an updated comprehensive winter operations and low visibility training program. BHL is closely associated with regional and provincial Search & Rescue Organizations. Our pilots have extensive Mountain Rescue experience and regularly conduct rescue operations in the Coast Mountains. |
